Information Technology Services (ITS) invites applications for a Senior Human Resources Manager to serve as leader of its Human Resources functions. This position will be filled under the Human Resources Generalist III professional and scientific job classification (PA53, pay grade 12), and report to the Director, ITS Business and Administration.
The ITS organization provides central Information Technology(IT) support services for the University colleges and administrative units for the benefit of faculty, staff and students. It is comprised of five departments that employ approximately 230 staff members and 100 graduate and undergraduate students.
The individual holding this position will serve as the ITS organizational authority and lead in all areas of Human Resources(HR) such as compensation, benefits, employment, employee and labor relations, and organizational development, by acting as leader, consultant and resource for HR policies, processes, programs and transactions.
Primary responsibilities include:
· Managing the day-to-day HR needs of ITS and ensuring that all regulatory, legal and University HR policies, practices and goals are implemented and followed in the organization.
· Working collaboratively with the University Associate Vice-President and Chief Information Officer (CIO), ITS Directors, Managers and Departmental HR Contacts to develop and advance ITS HR goals and strategies to positively influence organizational performance and results.
· Providing leadership, mentoring and consulting to the four ITS Departmental HR Contacts to help them fulfill their roles and provide them direction, training and coordination assistance for HR-related tasks.
· Conducting research, analysis, and studies to determine the effectiveness of current HR programs, policies and procedures or to identify potential HR problems or issues, and presenting recommended revisions or initiating programs or actions to enhance effectiveness and resolve problems.

· Providing coordination between University HR and ITS, and representing ITS on University-wide HR initiatives and in the creation of a campus HR vision and mission. |
· Serving as the ITS representative on the University Senior HR Leadership Council.
Basic qualifications include:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
· Considerable general human resource experience is required (Typically 5+ years)
· Demonstrated experience promoting a diverse workforce/academic environment.
· Knowledge of computerized information systems used in human resources applications.
· Proficiency in standard word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software applications
· Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills.
· Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations consistent with University HR policies, practices and processes.
· Ability to effectively lead and participate on teams and working groups.
· Ability to work effectively with a broad range of constituents.
Desirable qualifications include:
· Knowledge of contemporary human resource principles, practices and processes and current federal and state laws, statutes, regulations, policies and directives pertaining to human resources highly desirable.
· Knowledge of University HR policies practices and processes.
· Knowledge of IT related job functions, classifications and descriptions.
· Experience with high quantity student and graduate student employment.
· General understanding of ITS services and workgroups.
· Experience in process improvement/reengineering initiatives.
· Professional human resources certification.
